Thanksgiving Planner: T Minus-31

First, I wish to commend myself for having made it through two thirds of NaBloPoMo. Whew!

Second, since Wednesday is designated as “Thanksgiving Planner” day, and this is pretty much the last one of those, I thought I’d just keep you posted (literally) on my progress.

As I get underway this morning, I have the cranberry sauce finished and fridged. Last night when I couldn’t sleep, I was reading “Cook’s Country” and discovered a suggestion for improving the flavor of purchased unroll & bake pie crust by rolling it out on finely crushed animal crackers and then brushing it with butter, so I ad to go out and buy animal crackers. I also found, in the same publication, a great recipe for compound butter to rub under and over) the turkey’s skin, and that required Herbs de Provence. I didn’t have enough, so I picked up more of that, as well.

I will now go into a cooking trance with loud music and espresso until its time to pick up my bird around 12:00 and get it into the brine. I love cooking.
