Rumors of My Death Are Greatly Exaggerated…

shell-in-water.jpg

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I would be on the Gulf Coast and away from the interworld for the past 10 days. I am flattered that folks noticed, and now kicking myself for being an inconsiderate friend. I am back after three days in a small car with my parents and my son, and ready to decompress and WRITE. I haven’t cooked much, but I’ve eaten lots, and will start writing about it tomorrow, from my inaugural Waffle House experience to my new love of oysters. Stay tuned.

Right now, off to take care of my peeling nose and a big bag of laundry….

About imagineannie

I feel like I'm fifteen - does that count? I'm lots of things, I get paid to be the Managing Editor for a local news publication, and I love my job. I am also inordinately fond of reading, animals (I have four), elephants, owls, hedgehogs writing, tramping in the woods, cooking India, Ireland, England, avocado toast, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, Little Women, Fun Home, Lumber Janes, Fangirl, magic, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, YA books, not YA books, classical music, Salinger (OMG SALINGER), Brahms, key lime pie, indie music, podcasts, sleeping in, road trips, marmalade, museums, bookstores, the Oxford comma, BBC, The Miss Fisher Mysteries, birdwatching, seashells, kombucha, and stickers. Not a huge fan of chewing gum, jazz, trucker hats or dystopian and/or post-apolcalyptic fiction (but I'll try anything).

  2. Annie ~ No self recrimination required. I think the burned and peeling nose is enough punishment if any punishment were meted out, which it isn’t. Welcome home! looking forward to reading about your foodie adventures! junemoon

  6. claudia, I would LOVE to have stopped by, but did I mention that I was travelling with my parents and my kid, and that I was pretty much homicidal for the entire three days in the car? When I meet you, and I will, I want it to be all about good conversation, music and food. No interlopers.

junemoon, I should know better than to let myself burn, but I find the sun so healing…

jayedee, I did have a wonderful time, although the trip home set me back a bit (see above). Its a good thing I really, really love those people. As for The Waffle House, I LOVED it. Loved it. It is getting a whole post of its own.
